Dr. Chidanand, D.V, has acquired his Ph.D in Food Process Engineering from Tamil Nadu Agriculture University and Post Graduation in M. Tech (Post Harvest Process & Food Engg.) from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka.
Prior to his association with IICPT, he worked as Officer II (from May 2007 to Aug 2010) at the Mother Dairy Fruits and Vegetables Pvt. Ltd. (Safal), Bangalore, As a part of the Team for development of Quality Standards for fresh Fruits and Vegetables (Retail, Wholesale and Exports), he was coordinating the activities of Outreach to Secretaries and Members of Safal Growers Associations.
Dr. Chidanand, D.V has also conducted many outreach programmes as Course Director and organized 84 Training Programmes to SHG Members, Extension Functionaries, Rural Youths, Farmers and Farm Women at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore (April 2004 to May 2007). He was awarded the Best Extension Worker and Best Employee Award during his tenure at UAS, Bangalore and Safal, respectively.
Teaching and Research Interest: Now, he is teaching on Heat Transfer and Thermal Processing Foods, Thermal Processing Foods Lab, Post Harvest Engg of Agricultural Crops and Fruits and Vegetables Process Engg. He is concentrating research on Advances in Food Process Engineering, Unit Operations in Food Processing and Development of low cost technologies which are related to food processing.
